  Welcome to ICBC Salvage Web which allows you to view on-line:
· Featured Vehicles
· Salvage News
· Vehicle Sales Listings

· Display All Current Bids
· Accounts Payable

Salvage Web also allows you to submit a bid for a salvage asset online.

ICBC Salvage Web will be available from 6:00am to Midnight daily.

On rare occasions Salvage Web may be unavailable during these hours due to scheduled maintenance. Notification in advance of scheduled maintenance will appear in the scrolling marquee located on the "sign on" screen for Salvage Web.

  1.1 Recommended Personal Computer Requirements
  · Pentium 133 or better
· Mouse and keyboard
· Windows 95 or better
· 56k modem
· 32mb RAM
· Recommended browser:
    · First choice : Microsoft Internet Explorer version 4.0 and better
· Second choice : Netscape Communicator version 4.0 and better
  NOTE:
· Resolution application written to industry standard of 1024x768, but it also works with 800x600. For information on screen resolution, please refer to your PC technical support.
  1.2 Helpful Hints
  Avoid using the "Back" button, except as noted in this Users' Guide, to go to previously-viewed screens. Instead use the Salvage Web menu tabs at the top of the screen. See "General Layout of ICBC Salvage Web screens" included in this users' guide.

Monday through Friday 6:30am to 7:30pm
Saturday 8:00am to 4:30pm
  Closed Sunday and most statutory holidays.
(System maintenance, if required, is scheduled for early Sunday mornings.)
       
3 Microsoft Internet Explorer  





NOTE: The Certificate acceptance will be requested each time you access ICBC Salvage Web. See FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) on the ICBC Partners page for instructions on how to download the certificate, which will eliminate the need for you to accept the certificate every time you log on.
  3.1 Getting Started (Microsoft Internet Explorer)
  · Connect to your Internet Service Provider. On some PC's this will automatically connect when you launch your browser.

· Open the Internet Explorer browser by clicking twice with the left mouse button on the Internet Explorer icon. If this does not connect you to the internet, contact your Internet Service Provider for assistance.

· In the "Address" line type: http://www.partners.icbc.com
Press <
ENTER>

· This will bring up the "ICBC Partners page."

· Under "Business Applications" click once with the left mouse button on "ICBC Salvage Web." For quick access in future:
    · Locate the word "Favorites" near the top of the screen (between "GO" and "HELP").
· Click on it once with the left mouse button.
· On the drop down menu, click once with the left mouse button on "Add to Favorites…"
· On the "Add Favorite" pop-up window, select "No, just add the page to my favorites."
· Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
  · If a "Security Alert" pop-up window appears:
    · Select "In the future, do not show this warning."
· Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
    NOTE: This should prevent this Security Alert window from appearing again.
  · If a "Security Alert" pop-up window regarding server authentication appears:
    · Click once with the left mouse button on "YES."
  3.2 1st Time Log On (Microsoft Internet Explorer)  



Password
must be 6, 7 or 8 characters.
The system will not accept a password that is less than 6 or more than 8
characters . The password can be letters or numbers or a combination of both. The first character of the password must be a letter, not a number.

The system expires your password every 30 days. The same password can only be used once in a twelve month period.

If you forget your password, please call the ICBC Help Desk within BC at 1-604-661-6234 or outside of BC at 1-800-665-1517
  Changing Temporary ICBC Salvage Web Password

· In the "Enter Network Password" pop-up window:
    · Beside "User name" type in your Bidder ID as given to you by ICBC.
· Tab to the next line and:
· Beside "Password" type in your temporary password (the one issued to you by ICBC for Salvage Web).
· Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
  · The system will force you to change this temporary password when you first log on. "Change user password" screen will appear:
    · Beside "Username" type in your Bidder ID as issued to you by ICBC.
· Tab to the next line and:
· Beside "Old password" type in your temporary password (the one issued to you by ICBC for Salvage Web).
· Tab to the next line and:
· Beside "New password" type in your
new password (no less than 6, but no more than 8 characters). The first character of the password must be a letter, not a number.
· Tab to the next line and:
· Beside "New password (again)" type in your new password as entered above.
· Click once with the left mouse button on "Change my password."
· "You have successfully changed your password" screen will appear.
· Locate the word "Back" (has <= above it) and click twice with the left mouse button.
  · If a "Security Alert" pop-up window appears:
    · Select "In the future, do not show this warning."
· Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
NOTE: This should prevent this Security Alert window from appearing again.
  · If an "Enter Network Password" pop-up window appears:
    · Beside "User name" type in your Bidder ID (the one issued to you by ICBC)
· Tab to next line and:
· Beside "Password" type in your
new 6-8 character password.
· Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
  · The "Salvage Operations" screen will appear.
  · Confirm you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer browser - version 4.0 or greater, and the correct level of security. To check your browser version and security level, see appendix A for details.
  · To download the correct browser security level (128 bit) see appendix B for details.
  3.3 Normal Daily Log On (Microsoft Internet Explorer)

· If the Salvage Web page was added to "Favorites:"
    · Locate the word "Favorites" on the menu bar between "GO" and "HELP"
· Click on it once with the left mouse button. A drop-down list will appear.
· Click once on "Salvage Web."
  · If a "Security Alert" pop-up window appears:
    · Select "In the future, do not show this warning."
· Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
NOTE: This should prevent this Security Alert window from appearing again.
  · If a "Security Alert" pop-up window regarding server authentication appears:
    · Click once with the left mouse button on "YES."
  In the "Enter Network Password" pop-up window:
    · Beside "User name" type in your Bidder ID as issued to you by ICBC.
· Tab to the next line and:
· Beside "Password" type in your password.
· Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
  3.4 End of Session (Microsoft Internet Explorer)

   For security reasons, please close Microsoft Internet Explorer at the end of each session.
   

· Click once with the left mouse button on the "X" in the upper right hand corner of the screen.

- OR -

· Click once with the left mouse button on the word "File" in the menu bar.
· On the drop down menu, click once with the left mouse button on the word "Close."

       
4 Netscape Communicator  
  4.1 Getting Started (Netscape Communicator)
  · Connect to your Internet Service Provider. On some PC's this will automatically connect when you launch your browser.

· Open the Netscape Communicator browser by clicking twice with the left mouse button on the Netscape Communicator icon. If this does not connect you to the internet, contact your Internet Service Provider for assistance.

· In the "Location" line type: http://www.partners.icbc.com
Press <
ENTER>

· This will bring up the "ICBC Partners page."

· Under "Business Applications" click once with the left mouse button on "ICBC Salvage Web." For quick access in future:
    · Locate the word "Bookmarks" near the top of the screen.
· Click on it once with the left mouse button.
· On the drop down menu, click once with the left mouse button on "Add Bookmark."
  · If a "Security Alert" pop-up window appears:
    · Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
  · If a "New Site Certificate - Netscape" pop-up window appears, follow the onscreen instructions. On the pop-up window that asks "Are you willing to accept this certificate…" select "Accept this ID forever (until it expires)." Click once with the left mouse button on "NEXT."
  4.2 1st Time Log On (Netscape Communicator)

· Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
  · If a "Security Information" pop-up window appears:
    · Deselect "Show This Alert Next Time."
· Click once with the left mouse button on "Continue."
NOTE: This should prevent this Security Information window from appearing again.
  · The System will force you to change this one-time password when you first log on. "Change user password" screen will appear:
    · Beside "Username" type in your Bidder ID as issued to you by ICBC.
· Tab to the next line and:
· Beside "Old password" type in your temporary password (the one issued to you by ICBC for Salvage Web).
· Tab to the next line and:
· Beside "New password" type in your
new password (no less than 6, but no more than 8 characters).
· Tab to the next line and:
· Beside "New password (again)" type in your
new password again (no less than 6, but no more than 8 characters).
· Click once with the left mouse button on "Change my password."
· "You have successfully changed your password" screen window will appear.
· Locate the word "Back" (has <= above it) and click twice with the left mouse button.
  · If a "Netscape" pop-up window appears stating "Authorization failed. Retry?":

    · Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
  · If a "Username and Password Re…" pop-up window appears:
    · Beside "User Name" type in your Bidder ID as issued to you by ICBC
· Tab to the next line and:
· Beside "Password" type in your password.
· Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
  · If a "Security Information" pop-up window appears:
    · Deselect "Show This Alert Next Time."
· Click once with the left mouse button on "Continue."

    · Click once with the left mouse button on "OK."
  · If a "New Site Certificate - Netscape" pop-up window appears, follow the onscreen instructions. On the pop-up window that asks "Are you willing to accept this certificate…" select "Accept this ID forever (until it expires)." Click once with the left mouse button on "NEXT."

  4.4 End of Session (Netscape Communicator)
